Bachelor Of Science in Microbiology
Programme Objective
The objective of this programme is to train and equip graduates with understanding and skills in microbiology with emphasis on structure, function and application of microorganisms.
Design of the Programme
In year 1, Bachelor of Science in microbiology students are required to pass 6 units each in Botany, Zoology and Mathematics, 8 units in physics, 7 units in Chemistry, 6 units in Communication Skills, 3 units in National Development, and 3 units in Quantitative Skills.
In year 2, the students are required to pass 18 units of microbiology, 6 units of Botany and Biochemistry and Zoology, 9 units of Computer Science and 3 units each of National Development.
In year 3, the students must pass in 18 units of microbiology, 6 units each of Botany and Biochemistry and 3 units of Entrepreneurship.
In year 4, the students must pass in at least 36 units of microbiology including Research Project of 6 units and 3 units of National Development. Up to 6 other units may be offered on the recommendation of the department.
